On the Plateau

Dotted around the Tibetan Plateau of China is a diverse approach to cultural preservation that was fueled from a response to the imposed nomad resettlement plan. Documenting and promoting socially conscious enterprises is an effective way to assist women to earn an income through the arts rooted in their culture.

"Cross Cultural, Cross Generational Female Storytelling" in Tibetan Areas of China: Qinghai

Workshops with Pentok Institute trained young women ages 8-17 to document themselves with an intention of intergenerational positive female interactions and to create memories with each other.

Without using much language, we put together a multimedia project about their time at the camp, incorporating portraits that we did as a message to their future selves. A time capsule.
